A Golden Hour Wedding at Bracu Estate

A Golden Hour Wedding at Bracu Estate
Late November brings some of the best light of the year to the Bombay Hills, and Lauren and Rick timed their wedding at Bracu Estate perfectly around it. With around fifty guests and a schedule that ran from mid afternoon through to nine at night, both got ready onsite ahead of a 3:30pm ceremony, and the couple built a dedicated slot for sunset photos into their timeline, tucked between the main meal and cake cutting. It's a small scheduling choice that made a big difference to how the whole evening unfolded, and it's part of why we still think of this as one of our favourite Bracu Estate wedding photography days.
Golden Hour Portraits and the Reception at Bracu Estate
After the ceremony and group photos, Lauren and Rick headed out for a bridal location shoot across the estate's rolling, open grounds, before returning for their grand entrance into the reception. Then, tucked between the main meal and cake cutting, came the part of the day built entirely around the light: a dedicated golden hour slot for sunset portraits. Building sunset photos into a wedding day schedule takes a bit of planning, since it means holding a gap in an otherwise full reception timeline, but Bracu Estate's open grounds make it well worth it, and it's exactly the kind of scheduling choice a Bracu Estate wedding photographer will always encourage. The evening closed out with cake cutting and a first dance, with no part of the day rushed to make room for another.
Planning Your Own Bracu Estate Wedding
For couples considering a wedding at Bracu Estate, Lauren and Rick's day is a great example of what building golden hour into your timeline can do for your photos. The Bombay Hills' open, elevated grounds give a wedding photographer room to work with all afternoon, but it's that deliberate sunset slot, held between dinner and cake cutting, that turns good light into some of the best images of the day. If you're planning a Bracu Estate wedding, or want an Auckland wedding photographer who'll help you build golden hour into your own timeline, we'd love to hear about your day.
