Dancing Until Late at Backpaddock Lakes
By the time the DJ started at 5pm, Jaiden and Tyrin's wedding at Backpaddock Lakes in Hawke's Bay was already building toward a night that would run until well after dark. Married just days before Christmas, the couple blended Christian and Maori traditions across a day that started with preparation late morning and didn't wrap up until close to 10pm.
A Long Summer Evening by the Water
The ceremony itself took place mid afternoon, followed by group photos and a private vows moment before the couple slipped away for a bridal location shoot around the lakes. From there the reception took over, speeches, games, dessert, and a first dance that led straight into a night of dancing on the floor. Summer weddings in Hawke's Bay have a certain rhythm to them, long light, warm evenings, and plenty of time to properly celebrate once the sun starts to go down, and Backpaddock Lakes gave Jaiden and Tyrin exactly that kind of setting, the lakes providing a beautiful backdrop for photos through the afternoon before the reception carried the energy well into the night.
