An Intimate Countryside Wedding at Hanui Farm
Updated: Aug 28
Twenty Five Guests and a Couple of Unexpected Co-Stars
Angela and Samuel were married at Hanui Farm in Karaka on a Saturday morning in late September, in front of around twenty five of their closest family and friends. It's about as small as weddings get, and the couple used that to their advantage, letting the morning unfold at its own pace rather than sticking to a tight schedule. The real surprise of the day came from two of the farm's own horses, who wandered into a handful of portraits and turned out to be some of the best guests there.
An Unplugged Morning on the Farm
Before guests arrived there was time for a few relaxed portraits, then the ceremony itself, then group and couple photos scattered across the farm's open paddocks. Nothing about the morning felt rushed, which is the real advantage of a small guest list: there's room to actually enjoy getting ready, rather than watching the clock.
Dreaming of a Farm Wedding of Your Own?
Angela and Samuel's day is a good reminder that a small guest list doesn't mean a small celebration, especially with a rustic countryside setting like Hanui Farm to work with. Message us if a Karaka or South Auckland farm wedding is somewhere on your own planning list.
