An Apartment Balcony Elopement in Auckland Central
Updated: Aug 29
Married on Their Own Balcony
Mike and Angie chose somewhere completely their own for their wedding, the balcony of their own apartment in Auckland Central, for an intimate January evening elopement. There's something lovely about getting married exactly where you live, surrounded by the everyday backdrop of the city rather than a venue you'll only visit once, and that's exactly the feeling this wedding captured.
The Skyline as a Backdrop
As the sun dropped toward evening, the ceremony took place with the Auckland skyline as a backdrop, before the couple moved into a relaxed celebration that carried the same easy, personal feeling through the rest of the night. Elopements like this one are proof that a wedding doesn't need a big guest list or a traditional venue to feel completely special, sometimes the most meaningful setting is simply home.
For photography, a city apartment offers more variety than it might first appear. Window light, the balcony and nearby streets can each create a different setting, while keeping travel to a minimum and allowing the couple to stay present throughout the celebration.
An Apartment Elopement of Your Own?
For couples thinking about an apartment or balcony elopement in the city, Mike and Angie's evening is a great example of how much atmosphere a familiar, personal space can bring to a wedding day. If you're planning an intimate Auckland Central elopement of your own, we'd love to hear from you.
