A January Afternoon Among the Vines at Markovina Estate
Updated: Aug 29
A January Afternoon That Turns to Evening
Esther and Justin were married at Markovina Estate on a January afternoon, coverage running from just before one o'clock through to the evening's dancing. Kumeu's vineyard setting gave the day plenty of scope for photos, from the ceremony itself through to portraits among the vines while the light was still soft, the rows of established vines doing a lot of the visual work without much extra styling needed.
Two Very Different Lights, One Long Day
As the afternoon moved into evening, the light shifted from the bright clarity of a January day into something warmer, and by the time the reception was in full swing, the estate's own lighting had taken over. It's the kind of contrast that makes a full day of coverage worthwhile, the ceremony and vineyard portraits look completely different to the later hours of dancing and celebration, and having both properly documented means nothing about the day's shift in mood gets lost.
