A Golf Resort Wedding at Rydges Formosa
Updated: Aug 28
130 Guests, One Golf Resort, No Rushing
Not every big wedding feels big. Chris and Nina brought around 130 guests to Rydges Formosa Golf Resort on a Saturday in late September, and the day still moved at an easy, unhurried pace. Part of that comes down to the venue itself: a golf course setting gives a large guest list somewhere to spread out, so nobody's queuing for photos or squeezed into a corner while the room resets for dinner. We shot the day alongside a videography team, covering everything from bridal and groom preparation right through to the reception.
Making the Most of the Grounds
With that much green space on hand, the location shoot could take its time, working across the fairways rather than cramming a big bridal party into one small garden corner. That's really the case for booking a golf resort like Rydges Formosa for a larger wedding: the grounds do a lot of the heavy lifting, giving a photography and videography team room to move a 130-person guest list through the day without anyone feeling herded. By evening, that same space had settled into speeches, dinner and dancing, still relaxed despite the numbers.
