We close out our celebrants series with someone we have crossed paths with at more weddings than we can count, Laura Giddey. She has been a registered celebrant since 2012, and in that time has married everyone from the most traditional couples to the wonderfully unconventional ones, always with the same warm, easygoing energy. If you want a ceremony that feels genuinely personal rather than recited, Laura is a great place to start.

Laura sums up her own approach pretty simply, she loves love, and it shows. Her clients consistently describe her as calm, funny and completely unfazed by whatever curveballs a wedding day throws at her, which as photographers we can absolutely vouch for. She has a real gift for taking the small details a couple gives her and weaving them into a ceremony that actually sounds like the two of them, with enough wit and warmth that guests are laughing and misty eyed within the same few minutes.

What They Offer

Laura creates fully custom wedding ceremonies from the ground up, working with couples through pre-wedding consultations and planning meetings before delivering the ceremony itself on the day. She is based in Mount Eden but will travel anywhere in New Zealand, and internationally if needed, for the right celebration. Beyond weddings, she also works as a funeral celebrant, supporting families through those ceremonies with the same care she brings to weddings.
