Vendor Spotlight: Florists

If you have ever seen a ceremony arrangement that looks more like a piece of sculpture than a traditional flower display, there is a good chance it came out of Floralcentric's studio. We keep an eye on their work because it consistently gives us something visually striking to shoot, and we wanted to share why we think they are worth a look for couples after something a little bolder.

Why We Recommend Them

Floralcentric is led by Ainsley Henry, who began her floral career nine years ago in London, working alongside florists there and absorbing a scene steeped in creativity and event design. She brought that perspective home to Auckland to launch Floralcentric, originally a mother-daughter collaboration with her mum, Michele Coomey of Michele Coomey Floral. Ainsley now owns and leads the studio, though she still works closely with Michele on weddings and events, combining fresh ideas with decades of combined industry experience.

What sets their work apart is a genuinely sculptural style. Rather than neat, symmetrical arrangements, Floralcentric leans into texture, unusual blooms and unexpected shapes, which is exactly the kind of florals that reward a photographer willing to get in close and let the composition do the work.

What They Offer

Floralcentric has built six signature colour palettes for couples to choose from, ranging from classic White and Green through to Pastels, Bright and Colourful, and Pink and Red, each shown with its own gallery of inspiration imagery so you know what to expect before you book. Their packaged offering comes in two tiers: the Auckland Edit, starting from $3,900, and the Waiheke Edit, starting from $4,500. Both are designed to keep the planning process simple and easy to budget for while still delivering their signature look. For weddings outside Auckland and Waiheke, or for couples wanting something fully bespoke, they welcome enquiries and travel throughout New Zealand.

The Experience

Because Floralcentric works by appointment only out of their studio, the process feels considered from the first meeting. Couples choose a palette that speaks to them, and Ainsley and the team build out the specific blooms and shapes from there. For us on the day, that translates into arrangements with real depth, layers of colour and unexpected texture that hold up beautifully whether we are shooting a wide ceremony shot or a tight macro detail.

Their sculptural, slightly unconventional approach also tends to suit couples who want their wedding to feel a little different from what everyone else is doing, which lines up nicely with how we like to approach photography too.

Our Tips

Spend some time browsing their six palette galleries before your enquiry call so you can point to a specific look you are drawn to. It makes the planning conversation much easier on both sides. And if you are booking us for photography as well, flag any large-scale installations early, since we like to plan our shot list around a striking ceremony or reception piece like the ones Floralcentric builds.
